COUNTRYSIDE

I hate it, and I love it. I’ve been running from it and I always came back. We are in a relationship since childhood, but we can’t be together. It’s complicated.
It’s like that thing that lives in your body, runs in your veins ready to destroy you at any time. It lurks in the darkest corners of your mind. You hide it and want to kill it once and for all.

During my upbringing I experienced the benefits and shortcomings of living in the countryside. The immediate access to the nature and it’s wonders, but also the xenophobia and social control of it’s inhabitants. Complacency. It makes me feel trapped…
When I try to visualize the countryside I therefor omit the people and end up with the surface and only traces of life. The work continues…
